Chapter 4&5 Sydney

In these two chapters, Davis discusses the development of information systems and also talks about human nature, spirituality and nature itself. He talks about the idea that man will become machine in the future and how machines give us more power. I made this collage that has smaller and bigger pictures based on their importance in the chapters. I mostly focused on the idea of man becoming machine and the morphing of information systems and human nature.

a) In my own experience with the use of virtual spaces, I find it difficult to develop complex interpersonal relationships. It is possible to begin relationships through the use of virtual spaces, however I do not think it is possible to maintain any type of relationship unless the relationship is sought beyond the virtual space and into a real and intimate space. This is true especially if the relationship happens between a fully real entity. Yamamoto - Story 7 (Lauren)

provide an overview of your thoughts, feelings, ideas, responses to the book as a whole Overall, I liked the book. I think the idea of sending a message through storytelling is very interesting. The future is essentially unpredictable, but Yamamoto’s book offers an interesting interpretation with Artificial Intelligence. I really like how optimistic the book is, because most of us tend to be afraid of what might happen with AI, but there are a lot of positive aspects to appreciate about technology (as long as we don’t lose control of it).
