To answer the first question, all three of the videos focus on how the change in the various forms of media lead to greater capacities for connection. The video centered on YouTube focused on connections between people, how videos posted can become a mass conversation. The video about the evolution of web pages instead focused on more literal connections, showing how everything was linked together with hypertext, and how flexible digital text was as a writing medium. Moving on to the second, I honestly can't hazard a guess as to where things will go from here. What the videos described still holds true today, at least from my perspective. We still use XML to run webpages, we still watch videos on YouTube. Even the sites that were seen, such as WayBackMachine and Wikipedia are still extremely widely used. Media is a phenomenon that is constantly being regenerated. It started off very simple as paper text with a pen and a paper and evolved into a device that is at our disposal 24/7. When digital text was introduced, way more possibilities came than with paper text. As media evolved, so did its users. The availability throughout the world grew creating new global connections and communities. Wesch explains how the web is not just about information, its about linking people, and these links can sometimes be unpredictable. However, there is a lot to think about as media becomes more sophisticated, such as privacy and authenticity. Media has the power to intervene with human relationships. “When media changes, human relations change” Wesch says. Media is driving us to become increasingly individual, yet we still long for a sense of community. Digitalization has made everything very linear. But has it made it to linear? How HTML was made to help make websites, in a simplified way. but then Youtube rolled around, it made the linearity more open. For example, in the video "An anthropological introduction to Youtube" the video of the man dancing to Numa Numa, little does he knows that he was making connections with a "billion boxes" or people around the world. The pace of technological change in the time has had a sad remnant of what we will see throughout the following 15 to 20 years. This next influx of progress will in a general sense reshape the majority of our professions. Artificial intelligence, 3D printing, asset proficient economical production and mechanical autonomy will factor into the ways we at present make, oversee and patch items and convey administrations. Greetings, my name is Ben Layng. As for why I'm here, mostly because the name of the class caught my attention. I've personally always been a major fan of video games. As such, I've never really felt the need to improve my skills interacting with people, and I'm hoping this class may be able to help.

Hello, my name is Louis Barry. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Denver (DU), studying EDP with a double minor in Mechanical Engineering and Entrepreneurship. I have always been very visual. Coming into DU, I thought how bad can engineering be. It's rough. Especially, as a dyslexic. I believe everyone has the same amount of tokens, and are placed in different areas that make us unique. I have very few tokens in my writing skills, but somehow my creative side is off the charts. Furthermore, EDP was my calling. Seeing how visual everything is, pulled me right in. Last quarter I took a class called "EDP Imaging", basically a class that let imagination thrive. I loved it. Hi I'm Lauren. I am a freshman majoring in French and Media studies.  I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Denver, Colorado.  I was raised speaking French at home and went to bilingual schools throughout grade school.  I am a passionate traveler and have been to many different countries. I love trying new foods and experiencing different cultures firsthand.  I am interested in studying EDP, because it is something that is so prevalent in our world today. I would consider myself to be an avid social media user. As far as media experiences, my go-to source of technology is my iPhone, where I am able to access all my social media. My goal for this class is to be able to look at technology through a different lens. I am  intrigued to understand how empathy plays a role in all of this. I would like to become more aware of how consuming technology is to humanity and how we should embrace it.
